Jake and I are doing a guided bike tour through @sportsbasement this weekend and I’m just so happy to still be alive tonight! We rode 38 miles today, which is more than twice my previous longest ride. Started at Chrissy Field, rode over the Golden Gate Bridge (Bucket List ️) and through all the “little towns” up the peninsula, climbed some killer hills, and set up camp before dinner. Sunshine and changing leaves have made for a gorgeous ride. Say a little prayer that I survive the ride back tomorrow!

Logan’s class went to the pumpkin patch today and I got to tag along! We sang along as Jimbo played the banjo, went on a hayride, chose the perfect pumpkin, saw baby bunnies and piglets, got lost in a corn maze, and ran through the hay tunnel.

Barely 12 hours after getting home from our Disneyland trip, I loaded up the car again—this time with 6 Brownies plus my co-leader—and headed to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk Girl Scout campout! It was 36 hours of nonstop fun, with only a short break to sleep (short or nonexistent – depends on who you ask). We set up tents in the Boardwalk (under the awning of a beach supply store that left its music blaring ALL NIGHT LONG), did a round of mini golf, played unlimited arcade games, traded SWAPS, sang Girl Scout songs and watched a movie on the beach, went to bed at 11 pm, took down camp when we woke up, entered a sand castle contest after breakfast, and then spent the rest of the day riding roller coasters and eating all the delicious fried food on the Boardwalk. We all had SO MUCH FUN! The girls were giddy and happy and cooperative and independent and brave and they loved every minute. The weather was perfect and the beach was just gorgeous. Can’t wait to go again next year! If you have a Girl Scout in central or Northern California, I highly recommend this annual overnight!

Because we’re crazy, we went to Six Flags Magic Kingdom on our way home from Disneyland. Aside from some terrible customer service and maddening fine print on our passes, we had a lovely time riding this giant swinging pirate ship 5 times and every ride in the little kid area infinity times. The park was basically empty! Rushton lost us for a bit and ended up at guest services where he called us and was quickly reunited, and when I complimented him for not panicking, he assured me that he “panicked a bunch”. Oh well. Overall this has been such a fun family trip, we still love being together (most of the time…), and we can’t wait to sleep in our own beds!!!

Radiator Springs is just so adorable! Cars was Rushton’s first favorite movie, so it has a special place in my heart. The detail and creativity put into every single thing at Disneyland is just astounding.

Guys, pretend like you’re still having fun and you’re not WAY too tired to still be tromping around the park!… or …The one picture where Jake’s eyes are actually open, Logan is literally asleep….Hailey tho.
