A few weeks ago we visited Grandpa Spurlock (Jake’s dad) at work, and lucky for Rush, Grandpa is pretty much the boss at the bus depot for a school district. Which means that the place is loaded with… BUSES! Rush was in heaven. Ever since he learned the “Wheels on the Bus” song, he’s been obsessed with buses. So basically, his head was totally spinning this afternoon. There’s nothing better than seeing your child experience total bliss, for realz.
And to make the day even better – TRAX also runs right past the bus depot, so we got to see trains, too! Best. Day. Ever.
Thanks to Jake’s parents for taking Rushton that ENTIRE WEEKEND! Jake was supposed to go to a Scout campout on Friday night, so I had big plans of getting stuff done. But alas, he came down with a nasty cold, stayed home, and we ended up watching TV and relaxing all night. Then on Saturday Jake was super awesome and went on a boatload of errands with me. I gave him a million opportunities to get out of it, but he insisted that he wanted to go. So I guess he loves me! I was happy for the help and the company.
And you would think it’s every mother’s dream to have a weekend all to herself without the toddler, but I have to admit, I missed Rushton a ton! It was nice to be able to get a few things done, but I’m so used to him being around that I couldn’t wait to see him again. He’s hilarious and so stinking cute!
