Rush has started giggling off and on, but tonight he was just going crazy. We would laugh, he would laugh… It was great. At the end here, he gets kind of sad, and we think that it is because he got some shots today. There is only so much this little boy can handle!

P.S. Rush turned four months old yesterday. FOUR MONTHS! He is practically a grown up.

I’ve always wanted to go to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Pointe, and we finally made it there this year on our anniversary.  It was a perfect spring day to be outside – warm, breezy, sunny, and full of flowers.  (NO MORE SNOW, UTAH.  Understand??)  And to add to the perfectness of the outing, we went with our friends, the Wintertons.

Here’s what Rushton thought of the day at first.

Then after seeing all of this, his attitude changed a bit.  I can hardly believe places like this even exist, especially less than 10 miles from my house!   Must be what heaven looks like.

I was going to take/post a picture of Rushton in my favorite outfit of his (which he finally fits!!), but that’ll have to wait.  Before I got a chance, he had a MAJOR blow out while Jake was holding him – it soaked through Rushton’s diaper, onsie, pants, blanket, and all the way through to Jake’s shorts.  Good one, little buddy.  I guess that’s what my life is all about these days.

Never before has the world seen such a huge blow out from such a little baby.

Since I can’t quite get my stuff together enough to blog these days, I’ll send you to Jake’s Flickr page for a few recent pictures of Rushton.  And I think I even make a few cameos – I apologize if I look somewhat scary.  Childbirth and a newborn will do that to a girl.  Anyways, follow this link if you’d like to be totally blown away by the cuteness of our baby boy!!!

And a big THANK YOU to Grandma Bain who has been staying with us and helping out for the past 10 days.  I don’t know if we’d have made it without her!  We will ALL miss her – especially Rushton.  Mothers are simply the best!!  I hope Rush can say that about me someday 25 years from now.

As Baby Spurlock is no doubt preparing to make his spectacular debut (hopefully SOON), we just wanted to let you all in on the Master Plan for when he comes. Maybe this is all super obvious and I’m just doing this all for my own peace of mind because I’m crazy, but regardless, indulge me. People/books say that birthing plans are very important, so here’s ours, more or less.

When I start going into labor (aka when I’m admitted at the hospital), we’ll spread the word either by text, phone call, or Twitter/Facebook. (Yes, you read that right – Facebook. As most of you know, Jake’s always “connected”, and he said he’ll be Twittering a lot of what goes on. And since his Twitter account updates his Facebook status, that might be the easiest way to keep tabs on how things are going with us. I know, I know, we’re so Gen Y…) For those of you who would like to be informed when we’re on our way to the hospital – NO MATTER WHAT TIME OF DAY OR NIGHT – email me and let me know. For the rest of you who value your sleep, we’ll probably sound the alarm again after the sun comes up, so don’t worry about
being out of the loop for too long.

We will let you all know as soon as we can when the baby is born. I promise!  We won’t forget to call/text/update the very first instant that we are able to. If we haven’t let you know yet, then he probably hasn’t been born yet.

As for coming to the hospital – we will let you all know when we are ready for visitors. We do love each of you dearly, but we ask that you please wait to come to the hospital until we have specifically given the OK. It’s our first baby, we have no idea what to expect, but I know that I’ll need/want Jake for every second before, during, and after I give birth, and I’ll have a really hard time if he’s constantly leaving me to give updates in the waiting room. Call me crazy, but this is how we’d like things to go down for our first. So we’ll be very excited to see you all – AFTER the baby is born and we have determined that we are ready for visitors. Thanks!!

If you have any questions, speak now! I predict that there won’t be much phone answering on our part once the insanity begins. We’re so excited for our baby to come and for you all to meet him!

- Due date:  February 26, 2009  (And YES, we will find out the gender, just not for another LONG month…)

- Current cravings:  oranges, grilled cheese with lots of cold dill pickles, ice water

- Cravings that I’m already over:  marinara sauce, watermelon, Mexican-hole-in-the-wall-Beto’s-style steak super nachos

We’re so excited!  

P.S.  I’ve already picked out the baby’s halloween costume for next year.  YOU JUST WAIT, it will totally knock your socks off!
