Ode to my mother

Ode to my mother

My mom came to visit last week and it was nothing short of a piece of heaven!  It was so fun for her to have so much one-on-one time with Rush (and me, of course :).  He was shy for the first 30 minutes but after that he wanted to be with her or know her whereabouts at all times.  Besides all the laundry, cooking, cleaning, and curtain ironing and hanging that my mom did, she also did a ton of playing with and loving Rushton.  We all miss hear dearly and wish that California and Utah weren’t so far apart!

While she was here, she got Rushton a few more balls.  He is absolutely obsessed with balls and talks about them constantly.  NON-STOP.  Like tonight, he had fallen asleep in the car and when we got home, he was barely starting to wake up and he kept saying “ball. ball. ball.” before he could even open his eyes all the way.  He plays with balls all day long and now even sleeps with them.  Not teddy bears, folks, he sleeps with footballs and soccer balls and basketballs.  Today for his nap he fell asleep holding 2 balls and a sippy cup.  He usually sleeps on his tummy, but that’s kind of difficult now with his hands/arms so full.  It’s pretty cute.

Also while my mother was here, we visited her mother (my Grandma Hanks – 95 years old. WOW.) a few times…

…and went to the dino museum with my brother’s family (they were here from Arizona for a surprise visit to his in-laws’ family but we got to steal them for a day).

I am seriously so blessed to have such amazing parents and family (including, of course, my husband, little boy, and our little girl on the way).  I love you all!

  1. Seriously, Mom’s the best. I recognize that cart as being from Target… Nice work, train him up well. That’s a really cute picture of the kiddos. I wish I were there for the party.
