Jake’s at Scout Camp all week, so Rush and I are having a grand old time entertaining ourselves. Today we went up to Red Butte Gardens with the Wintertons – there are some fountains and a children’s garden. Rush was in heaven! It was about the giddiest I’ve ever seen him. He was talking, singing, squawking, running, laughing… It was so much fun! Thanks Ryan, Kim, Sophie and Nora!

A few words about Rushton right now. He’s getting so much faster at running and better at climbing. Just when I thought the main floor was baby-proof enough, Rush goes and learns how to climb on chairs and the coffee table. He is SO curious and busy – you can see in the pictures below that he’s always looking at or thinking about where he’s going next. Rush can hardly be bothered to stop and smile for the camera (unless it’s someone else’s camera. Ryan, can you send me your photos, pretty please??) He talks a lot if you can get his binki out of his mouth, but still no real words. He loves to hug kids, especially kids his size, but they generally want to run away crying (like Sophie does, but not Nora!) He loves water, baths, pools, fountains, and anything outside. He is such a happy little guy and makes me smile and laugh all day long, no joke. I hardly remember life before him – what did I even do with myself every day?!

With the Fourth of July falling on a Sunday, Utah decided to have celebrations on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Jake got sick on Saturday, so our only real “fourth-y” thing was a BBQ we went to up Mill Creek Canyon on Monday with our friends the Wintertons. Delicious, perfectly-formed burgers were devoured, s’mores were roasted over the fire, and this picture was taken…

Chrissy, you asked for more wedding pictures, so you get more wedding pictures. This post is for you (and anyone else who wants to see more of Cecilie’s wedding!). But be warned, these pictures are from my amateur cameras. When Cecilie is done honeymooning and cruising and whatnot, I’m sure she’ll post pictures from the wedding photographer and those will all put my pictures to shame. Enjoy!

I usually have to open crackers or cereal when we go grocery shopping. This is Rushton’s favorite cereal, and apparently he couldn’t wait for me to hand him some so he took matters into his own hands (and cheeks).

My sister Cecilie got married last weekend to an awesome guy named Scott. Scott’s a Utah/Stanford man, but he fits into our BYU/Berkeley family just fine. Here’s my whole family in front of the Salt Lake Temple right after the ceremony.

And then here’s the lil’ guy in his lil’ tie. (Doesn’t your heart just MELT??)

My little family as we’re waiting for Cecilie and Scott to come out of temple and begin the wedding photo extravaganza…

Yogurt

Rush has taken a recent liking to yogurt, and he eats it with a spoon all by himself! What a big boy. It seems like every time I look at him I’m blown away by how much he’s growing up. And yes, I usually have to bathe him after he eats yogurt. But who can resist this happy little face?

That is definitely yogurt in his hair.

He’s right-handed. Sorry Jake, Grandpa Spurlock, and Uncle Ty…

Talking to me (no real words yet, but I’m sure what he’s saying is very important)…

And after about 10 minutes or less of yogurt eating, the bowl is usually thrown off the tray and yogurt is splashed all over the floor, counter, sliding glass door, and blinds…

This is his little dance move – he swings his arms up and down with his hands in fists. I love his expression when he knows he’s dancing!

This boy takes his sippy cups very seriously…

Ever since Rush has been more mobile (crawling and now walking), he’s gotten himself into all kinds of trouble…

Stuck!

Much to Rushton’s dismay, there are locks on all cabinets except one. Sorry little dude, life’s full of disappointments.

And just for kicks, here’s Rush eating french fries – his very favorite food. (Who can resist Carls Jr’s criss-cut fries?? Certainly not I.)
