Mix together and let set in a warm place until it bubbles:
- 1 pkg yeast
- ¼ c. warm water
- 4 T. brown sugar
Scald and cool to lukewarm:
- 1 cup milk
- ¼ c. sugar
- ¼ c. butter
- 1 t. salt
Add 1 ½ c. flour and beat well. Add yeast mixture and 1 egg. Beat well. Add about 2 c. more flour to make a soft dough. Cover and let rise until double in bulk.
Roll out and shape between 2 pieces of wax paper.
Smear on generously melted butter. Sprinkle with mixture of sugar and cinnamon. (2 T. cinnamon to ½ c. sugar)
Roll, cut with string.
Bake at 375 for 12-15 minutes.
Drizzle with topping of powdered sugar, milk and vanilla.
