I’m making some changes to my blog (ok, Jake’s making the changes, not me), so please excuse any blog ugliness or broken links in the reconstruction phase. And please, PLEASE don’t click on any of the months in the Archives sidebar – save yourself the horror of all caps and jumbled formatting! I get a twitch every time I check the archives for progress… (And now that I’ve mentioned it, you’ll go straight there. I just want to be sure no one thinks that I think that’s good design. All I can say is, you’ve been duley warned!)
Jake’s idea of watching Rush is basically letting him run free around the house. I usually try to keep all non-kid things out of kid reach, but I guess we missed the video camera this time. When I realized what had happened, there were over 30 videos from 1 to 15 seconds long, and each was of mostly blurry nothingness. This was one of my favorite videos Rush took – you can just hear how happy he is, singing while he shoots his videos. Crazy kid.

First off, I blame my friend Stefanie for constantly mentioning her love of Oreo cookies on her blog. And my friend Kim for actually bringing Oreo cookies to my house several months ago. I had forgotten about Oreo’s for a long time until these two brought them back into my life. Thanks a lot, ladies…
Anyways, I’ve mentioned before that we have to keep most things above the 3-feet level in our home, and treats are no exception. Somehow, in a moment of weakness, someone was watching Bachelor Pad and carelessly left an opened package of Oreos and a mostly empty glass of milk by their chair in the basement. Rush found it the next day, and I’m sure you can guess what happened next.

We had my cousin Bryce over for Sunday dinner last week. The company and the food were both sensational, if I do say so myself! The Pineapple Zucchini Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting was a huge hit (from the Pioneer Woman Cooks blog – try it, you’ll thank me!). Rush is an especially big fan of Bryce, and vice versa. I love the first few seconds of this video where Rush is exercising his voice. He’s so loud sometimes!

The little monkey climbed on a chair and pulled an entire pitcher of red juice off of the table and dumped it everywhere. He was quite pleased with himself. I wasn’t home when it happened (one of his other parents was…ahem, JAKE), but I certainly did my fair share of scrubbing once I got home. You can’t take your eyes off of him for even a second…
