Happy birthday to my cute 7-year-old Hailey! We spent the evening freezing at a swim meet in 57 degree weather with hurricane-force winds, but it was pretty rad when the whole swim team sang to her. I’m sorry for making you swim in the cold, sweet girl.

She woke up wanting to open presents but nothing was wrapped yet. 😬 By 12:30, we had cupcakes, a smash cake, presents wrapped, decorations up, and grandparents were on their way. It turned out to be a good birthday after all!

Rushton got to be the Junior Announcer at school this morning! He’s still getting used to having a mouth full of metal, but he did great and he felt pretty important.

Jake was at a KublaCon all weekend gaming, so it was only appropriate for him to get the kids gaming on his first morning back. Today was full of summer things – swimming and friends and pineapple mango salsa and sunburns and red+white+blue and blessed air conditioning. It was a good one!

Found these little jokers hiding in the photo booth. A tiny room with a dark curtain is impossible to resist!

This photo was taken moments before they started throwing punches and got kicked off the ride. 😑 I’ll never get back that 20 minutes of waiting in line. Kids. #timetogohome

These little cuties make braving crowds and standing in lines totally worth it.

Logan’s preschool program tonight was too cute – I could watch that kid do hand motions to songs all day long. #mrsperonamagic is indescribable. It’s so much more than just preschool – they bake, pick cherries from her tree, raise chickens, make art in numerous mediums, learn songs for every season, play with the coolest toys, enjoy the outdoors in her beautiful backyard, and so much more, in addition to all the letter-learning and show-and-telling. A friend once explained it as not only a singular preschool experience, but also like another grandma to love your child. #truth I think I will miss her as much as Logan will! She has touched countless lives over the years, and I’m so grateful we got her this last year. Happy retirement, @mamaperona! ️
