Our last hurrah on the way out of LA was people-watching and a stroll along the Santa Monica Pier. And torturing our children with “NO, we’re not buying anything and NO, we’re not going on any rides. We’re just LOOKING!”
We barely saw half the California Science Center yesterday so we went back today for the aquarium and water features. So many fish!
Hailey, pulling her head out of the sand!
Yesterday, a perfect beach day was made even more perfect with cousins! We crashed in the waves, buried Hailey in sand, tried boogie boarding, soaked up the sun, and ended with tacos. Thanks for a fun afternoon, Bain fam!
As the dean of Jake’s program said/quoted at graduation, “Make the time to smell the roses. Take the time to make a friend.” Her speech was exquisite—humble yet inspiring.
We could have spent DAYS at the California Science Center! The Endeavour space shuttle was incredible—the whole room stayed pretty quiet in a kind of reverence. The only thing that could pull me out of there (besides lunch for hungry children) was the vast, blooming rose garden outside.
