Last Tuesday afternoon, I got the dreaded call that my family (Jake and the boys) was in a car accident. Thankfully, everyone was wearing seatbelts. Our van was still at the dealership after the weekend’s flat tire so I borrowed a friend’s car to collect Rush and Logan and empty stuff out of our totaled car. Rushton’s baseball coach saw us and stopped to help, and then took Jake to the baseball field after we were cleared to leave the accident. I try not to let my mind wander to what could have been, and I’m just so grateful for friends who helped in our moment of need, and that every single one of my family was safely tucked in their beds that night.
