The boys had a blast at Cub Scout Day Camp this week! Favorite things were workshop, archery, and shooting. At pick-up on the last day, Rushton’s den leader said that he and Everett were super helpful all week, anticipating needs and going the extra mile to clean up—it’s nice to hear things like that! They ended the week with a program of corny Scout skits for their families. I’m so grateful for the countless volunteer hours put in by so many people. Rushton came home exhausted and happy every day, and excited for the next day! (Side note: While I was there today, a 9yo kid came up and started talking to me. He introduced himself, and then asked for my full name. When I gave it to him, he struggled with my last name. I repeated it slowly a few times with extra enunciation, and finally he said matter-of-factly, “Oh, like the word SPERM without the -erm.” … Yes, that. )
Hailey declared yesterday as one of the best days of her life. Splash pad and sand park with friends, followed by free Slurpees and dollar hot dogs at 7-Eleven. Sometimes she’s a little too easy to please… #dreambiggerdreams
Living that swim team life. We’re at kind of a sweet spot with swim. The kids are old enough that they’re not always wandering or getting in trouble, and they can last for several hours. Swim meets are basically long playdates with tons of friends. I love watching them improve and pop their times, and I get to chat with my friends and be in the sunshine, too!
