I could hardly keep up with these kids at the Subaru Kids Obstacle Challenge this morning! They ran, rock-climbed, rope-swung, balanced, carried, and powered through the course with permanent smiles. Hailey and Logan even bathed in mud at the end (but not Rush! ♂️). Thanks for the invite, @heat24her! Now to get all the mud out of their clothes and weeds out of Hailey’s hair. #kidsobstaclechallenge
Small World Park is the best. It’s small, admission is cheap, enough rides and play structures to entertain for hours, lots of shade, never crowded, and they provide poles and hot dogs for catch-and-release crawdad fishing! Of the 18 kids in our crew, only two fell into the pond—the oldest (Rush) and youngest (Eliza). And we didn’t lose anyone for more than a minute (Logan).
We wrapped up our FIFTH season of swim team with awards night this week. Hailey and Rush both had 13 popped times and I’m so proud of Logan for actually competing this year! It’s so much work, but also so much fun. I can’t imagine doing summer any other way! #vddforlife
This rad park had zero shade, but the wind was blowing pretty hard, so these kids ninja-warriored until they dropped!
In an effort to make the last full week of summer break as sweet as can be, we toured the Jelly Belly factory! But don’t ask us about it—the kids mostly just raced through the aisles and hardly stopped to watch a video or look at the factory floor. At least we bought $30+ worth of jelly beans in all of our favorite flavors, so there’s that!
