It was a Christmas miracle! Jake and Eric were able to gather enough people (8) to play Captain Sonar not once, but TWICE today! I’m glad they knew what was going on, because I did NOT. Good game, guys.
We must have ended up on the Nice List because Santa stuffed the stockings and Mom wrapped presents until 2:30 a.m.! Favorites this year were roller blades (Hailey), camping hammock and drum pad (Rush), and Legos and laser tag (Logan). And gaaaaaaames!
With our December starting in Mexico, we didn’t get to most of our Christmas holiday things until much later in the month, and some we just skipped completely. Maybe next year we’ll decorate the top half of our tree and get the star all the way to the top! But as the saying goes, the people gathered round our tree is what matters most, and I am infinitely grateful for my little family (and my big family! and my family of friends, teachers, and neighbors!). The abundance represented in this quiet scene is not lost on me.
I grew up in the @crippsmas_place neighborhood in Fremont and I still love walking the streets every Christmas season. If you’ve never been, put it on your list next time you’re in the Bay Area during December!
