In between all the beaching and biking, we ate our way through Santa Cruz and aimlessly wandered through the shops along Pacific Avenue. We had food from Thailand, Greece, Brazil (2x), Mexico, Hawaii, burgers, and two different ice cream shops. Everything was so delicious. Yelp for the win!
The smell of ocean air, the sound of crashing waves, the cool, moody blues, green, whites, and grays… This place was good for my soul.
I know I’m not THAT old, but nothing makes me feel younger than flying down a forest trail and hitting berms and bumps just right. The world-renowned Demo Flow Trail portion of today’s ride was a bucket-list item! No surprise it’s #1 on @mtb_project
This was my view for most of today (Jake walking his bike up a hill). What was supposed to be a 10-mile loop somehow turned into 18.2 miles, with more than half of it walking our bikes uphill. ☠️ The 40 minutes of flowing downhill single track was indeed epic, but maybe next time we’ll helicopter in and out. #orfindabettermap
Jake is the best. I could chase tide pools for days (past the point that my pants are soaked from sneaky waves) and he patiently indulged my obsession this evening.
This morning started out with a flat tire, as any bike trip should! We biked to a Brazilian restaurant for breakfast, rode back to Natural Bridges to see it at high tide, then came home along the coast trail past the lighthouse and about a thousand tide pool spots that I want to hit at low tide.
Nice to sea you… (@whyisjake made me say that)
The longer I live here, the more I ️ California and never want to leave. Can’t wait to come back for the tide pools and bring the kids to Natural Bridges. Also, I really like this guy.
We were supposed to be in Thailand right now, but I guess Santa Cruz ain’t half bad. #damnyoucoronavirus
11 years ago, this kid came into my world and changed it for the better. Rushton is fun, smart, responsible, driven, and often makes mothering easy. He loves sports, playing games, cooking, reading, hanging with friends, driving the riding mower at the baseball field, and his family! He knows what he wants, and tonight that was ice cream sundaes with mint chip and cookies & cream ice cream, chopped mint Oreos and Thin Mints, homemade dark chocolate hot fudge, and whipped cream (I’ve taught him well). We all love him to pieces! Happy birthday, Rush!
