A few days ago (or weeks ago? who even knows…), Jake had to take care of something at the baseball field and took the kids to run around in the wide-open empty space. I went later to pick the kids up, but we ended up playing catch and hitting some balls and it was so good to see them playing baseball, even if only for a little bit. We were SO looking foreword to baseball season this year and we’re all heartbroken that it’s not happening. I know that this loss pales in comparison to the devastating losses experienced by so many during this time, but it’s ok to be sad about baseball. It took me several years of little league to come around to it, but I love how it can bring communities and families together, and I’ve loved watching Jake grow and serve as a leader over the last 2 years he has been the little league president. He (and others) worked so hard this year to make the fields, uniforms, storage shed, scoreboard, teams, and everything fantastic! So much heart (and sweat and puffy allergy eyes) goes into baseball season. I’m missing our CLL family right now. ️
