Guys! We made it through October! Raise a glass, take a nap, just breathe again. We finally had a quiet Saturday with nothing on the books but Rushton’s end-of-season soccer party (and that ended a week-long stretch of pizza every damn day). Now, how rad are these cupcake toppers?!

Terrible air , sub-zero temperatures 🥶, scorched trail , but I got a new bike so we had to give it a spin. 🚴♀️

Today we jumped in leaf piles, chased babies, played soccer, made Muddy Buddies, listened to podcasts, tried a new game (that Jake made!), appreciated veterans, and still went to dance and piano.

I feel like last year, we got our tree up late and barely had time to enjoy it before it was time to take it down again. Not this year! #noregrets Don’t worry, we’ll still give Thanksgiving the respect it deserves. We ate pumpkin pancakes for breakfast and pumpkin cake for dessert, burning our way through a pumpkin apple candle, and planning to make leaf-shaped cookies and apple turkeys.

Last weekend, I took the kids camping ️ with the Cub Scouts while Jake stayed home doing homework. It’s always so fun with all the Scout little sisters and hot cocoa in the morning! But we could have done without the 5 a.m. sprinklers that soaked half the tents. For anyone keeping track (🏼♀️), that’s 3 weekends tent camping this month. Isn’t there some kind of medal for that? 🏅

Hailey, my artist. One of my favorite things is going through Hailey’s backpack and seeing all the things she has drawn and colored on the backs of her worksheets. Almost every single paper (and there are LOTS) has some artwork or a note to/from friends on the back. It’s the cutest thing!.The homework that Hailey never complains about is doing creative lettering for each of her weekly spelling words. She gets so creative and is almost giddy the whole time. I’m blown away at her imagination and artistic abilities. I can’t wait to watch her style change and grow as she learns new techniques! A girl after my own heart. 🏼

Today I ignored my chores (my house shows it! 😬) and played game after game after game with my kids. We need to do that more often! Too many of our games gather dust on high shelves bc I’m too lazy to figure out the rules or teach kids. No more! A friend made a New Years resolution to play all of their 70-something games at least once over the year. How about it, @whyisjake?
